I would think.  When do they ripen compared to the other berries?   If the 
grapes are earlier, you might at least miss the period of (comparatively) 
heavy eating.  I doubt they are, though.  Of course, bears are big and 
they're always eating heavily, but they really stuff themselves as late in 
the fall as possible.

I would suspect that's like putting up a sign at the entrance to the 
buffet :-(

The lead deterrent - while definitely not my cup of tea - is the only one that 
sounds likely to work.

I remember your picture of seal tracks - is it polar bears you're
