[Growwine] Netting - Time to Order

Once again, thank-you all for the info. The starlings are
conregating near by and swooping over the vineyard 50 - 100 birds at
a time. There does not seem to be any loss of grapes yet so I suspect
they may be on patrol for Japanese Beetles although I have not noticed
any significant beetle population. With veraison approaching I don't
want to take chances with the "darling Starlings". Anyone using
propane canons loaded with bird shot ? (kidding of course) Tim,
(McNich) the round bale netting sounds like a very reasonable product.
How much can you strech the netting? I had a look online and one
product I saw only came in 64 inch width (widest) that's a tight fit
whereas vine netting is normally 3 - 4 meter in width. I like the
resourcefulness of using other products and if for that reason alone
I'll have to try some. If ithis works well that would be a great
option as our local feed supply may carry it.
Thanks again all.
Cheers,
Doug.

Hi Doug,
I have two sources: Gintec, one is located in Windham Centre,
Ontario...They are an American company based in the deep south. They
have a real good product.
The second one is Sunpack Canada Ltd. They are a Chinese company,
who has an agent in Burlington, ON. The agents name is Lily Li.
I was really impressed with the different products they have,
although all their names are real confusing. You can velcro on the
lower end and all types of hooks etc.
I know there is no minimum commercial order with Sunpack, and the
price blew me away. - However, you are dealing with a Chinese Mfg, so
who knows what the quality is like. But she claims
that some of here customers in New Zealand has had the netting on
for 7 years. Gintec has the same guarantee as well.
Sunpack site is: www.esunpack.com [1]
Gintec site is: www.gintec-shade.com [2]

Quoting Doug Briden :
Would anyone have a good recommendation for vine netting both type
and source. I'm interested in row netting with manual installation, at
least for now.
Thanks,
Doug.
