It would be interesting to find out how much energy is used/saved by 
recycling each of the container types.  For example, recycling your 
aluminum Coke or beer can saves about 1/3 of a can of oil; a PET bottle 
of water requires three equivalent bottles of water PLUS a bottle of 
petroleum to produce! Since glass can go from final product straight 
into another final product, it seems reasonable that glass is the 
enviro-friendlier option. Anybody got any facts or numbers?
