[Growwine] worm damage

For caterpillars, I have had excellent results on a number of plants
with either insecticidal soap or diatomaceous earth.
( "Safers" is the brand name of soap I used, but I hear that Ivory
works too. Don't know about dish-washing stuff... that's detergent,
not real soap.)
Either one can be applied directly onto the critters and you can
watch them curl up and fall off the leaves. No poisons, no worries,
no danger to your wine.
Just don't breathe the powder (and I guess you shouldn't drink the
soap).
However, before I spent any time or money or effort, I would gather a
couple of the beasties in a jar and consult with my local guvvamint
ag expert, who can tell you exactly what they are and probably give
you a multi-page list of control strategies. Your tax dollars work
for you.
