Hi, I have built an open wooden framework (arbor),over my exposed western facing deck, and have a two year old `King of the North`growing up it. This will be mostly for shade, but would be nice if it fruited. The top of the arbor is about 13 feet above grade. One of the canes from this vine grew about 12 feet horizontally, from a 4 foot high trunk last year. Is this a `bull`cane, and if it is, would it be useful as a vertical cane up to the top of my arborÉ. I read in Lons book where `bull`canes were unfruitful, but was wondering if any shoots of it could be used. thanks.
