Maurice, that is very exciting. I have long believed that with the super-hardy varieties it should be possible to get wineries established well outside the "traditional", vinifera-friendly hotspots. We ought to have wineries all along the 400 going up to Cottage Country, and why not along Hwy. 401 between Toronto and Windsor, or even a really underdeveloped area - all along "Ontario's West Coast", that is, the shoreline of Lake Huron. Lots of tourists up that way, but no wineries. Frontenac, Marquette, Edelweiss, all the Minnesota varieties --- why not?

Well what do you know? I know you have been on the bandwagon plus a lot of others who have the same idea.We have had the same stigma here about above the escarpment an along the shore of lake Erie. I met a person at the sportsman show yesterday an he has 100 acs in the Barrie area an he wants to grow grapes an open a cottage winery. He is retiring in two years an he wants to have it up an going before then.Iam going to get him on line with us an where ever to help him make a go of it.He will be retiring from the RCMP an his wife is out of Carilton university..Surprising where you meet people. Maurice.
