<DIV><BR></DIV>Mike<BR> <BR>It fascinates me when people insist on growing vinifera and have no apparent interest in excellent hybrids that are generally more cold hardy ---- however ---- IF I PROTECT MY VINIFERA AGAINST THE POSSIBILITY OF -35 C temperatures that can ocurr after a mid winter thaw has removed all of the snow cover ---<BR> <BR>I can grow and ripen such VINIFERA crosses as:<BR> <BR>Schoenburger<BR>Wuerzer<BR>Riechensteiner<BR>Ortega<BR>Madeline Angevine<BR>Zefir<BR>Siegerrebe<BR>Perle of Csaba<BR>Frueburgunder<BR>Agria<BR>Dornfelder and <BR>Zweigelt<BR> <BR>---the latter two are late ripening enough that I get sweet fruit only in the best years<BR>when the Growing Degree Days total more than 1000.<BR> <BR>--see my list at <A href="http://www.littlefatwino.com/peterslist.html" target=_blank>http://www.littlefatwino.com/peterslist.html</A> <BR> <BR>??
